Biography of Michael Voris
Michael Voris is the founder and President of St. Michael’s Media and Sr. Executive Producer of ChurchMilitant.TV – two media enterprises established to address the serious erosion of the Catholic Faith in the last 50 years.
Michael was born in 1961, the year before the Second Vatican Council and grew up in a Church coming apart at the seams and hemorrhaging believers by the millions.
He graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 1983 with a degree in Communications and moved into a career as television news reporter, anchor and producer, mainly with CBS News, where he received four Emmy Awards for Excellence in Broadcast Journalism.
In 2000, he left TV news and began his own video production company producing TV commercials for large corporations like General Motors in Detroit.
Following a reversion to the Catholic Faith of his childhood after close to twenty years as a lukewarm Catholic in mortal sin, Michael invested all his savings into St. Michael’s Media and began producing the TV program, The One True Faith – an hour long program aimed at helping Catholics better understand the great gift of the Catholic Church.
During the early years of St. Michael’s Media, he studied for and received his STB – Sacred Theology Baccalaureate – an ecclesiastical post-graduate degree and graduated Magna Cum Laude.
In 2008 .. he partnered with realcatholictv.com during start-up to expand the reach of St. Michael’s Media programming via the internet. What initially began as a modest effort has now grown .. thanks to the blessing of Our Lord and the constant prayers of thousands of followers .. to a sizable electronic Catholic evangelization effort seen by going on 20 million viewers.
In 2011 .. Michael was inducted as a Knight into the Royal Order of St. Michael of the Wing of the Royal House of Portugal .. the ceremony taking place not very far from Fatima, where Michael consecrated the apostolate’s efforts to the Queen of Heaven and placed the entire apostolate under her Queenly and maternal protection.
In 2012 .. the name of the website was changed to ChurchMilitant.TV to more accurately reflect its style and mission .. a bold and muscular presentation of the Catholic Faith.
Michael has been invited to speak at hundreds of gatherings .. many of them international .. and he carries a message of the need for a stalwart defense and promotion of Catholic Doctrine and Catholic Truth with him where ever he goes in hopes of reinforcing the faithful.
